There is no fee to attend this lecture. Preregistration is requested and seating is limited. This lecture has been approved by the MVTA for 1 CEU for veterinary technicians and assistants.

Lecture overview:

In this lecture we will be focusing on the interpretation of bloodwork results with particular emphasis on blood gas analysis (NOVA). It is important for technicians, particularly in an emergency setting, to be able to quickly recognize the significance of abnormalities and communicate them readily to the rest of the medical team!

Speaker bio:

Dr. Elizabeth (Libby) Holman grew up in Troy, Ohio before moving to New England. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Education at Bowdoin College and taught middle school science for two years before returning to veterinary school. Dr. Holman received her DVM degree in 2009 from Tufts University, Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and went on to complete a one-year rotating internship at the hospital in Emergency and Internal Medicine. Dr. Holman joined Bulger in 2010 as a general practice doctor and has enjoyed forming long-term relationships with her clients and their pets. Her professional interests include renal disease, dermatology, and preventive care. Outside of the hospital Dr. Holman enjoys running, cooking, and spending time with her family.
