Ever wonder what a Veterinary Technician Specialist is? There are currently over 13 VTS academies. VTS technicians tend to be paid more, hold higher position and are well sought after in the job market. Amy Newfield is the President of the Academy of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Technicians. She will review the VTS history and process of becoming a VTS. She will also review the benefits of obtaining your VTS.

Speaker Bio: Amy is currently employed with BluePearl Veterinary Partners as the National Veterinary Technician Training Manager (www.bluepearlvet.com). In 2003 she became boarded as a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care. She currently sits on the Academy of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Technicians board as the President (www.avecct.org).

Amy is well published in over 15 subjects and has over 60 published works (book chapters and articles). She started speaking 10 years ago and is an international speaker who has spoken at over 50 conferences. Amy has worked as a veterinary technician for 20 years
