This lecture, presented by, Jessica Maynard, DVM, will focus on the importance of a stress-free veterinary visit for our patients, their owners and the veterinary staff. Basic animal behavior theory will be discussed including: 1. Recognition of stress, fear, anxiety and aggression 2. Methods of animal learning 3. Behavior modification techniques 4. Prevention and reversal of behavioral problems as they pertain to vet visits. The lecture will be supplemented with videos and, if available, interactive demonstration of low-stress restraint techniques of dogs and cats.
