This presentation will explain exactly what Veterinary Physical Rehabilitation is. We will touch base on how it can expand on traditional veterinary lameness therapies, and how technicians can help in this role. Show how in addition to medications or surgery to help with inflammation/arthritis of a joint, many patients suffer from secondary (or primary) muscle/neurologic damage or tightness. This can become more restrictive than arthritis. We can focus on relaxing/strengthening and retraining muscles and muscle memory to help patients do much better. To have participants recognize how physical therapy, including laser therapy and physical therapy and physical modalities, can help both outpatients and our inpatients. For this reason, we will aim to show all technicians how they will all benefit from learning new ways to "restrain" and use the laser. Show some basics of safely leading a patient through a safe range of motion exercises.
