This lecture has been approved by MVTA for 1.0 CEU for veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants. 

Lecture Overview: This lecture will explore rabbit husbandry, nutrition, restraint and venipuncture. We'll cover indoor vs. outdoor housing, proper bedding, environmental enrichment and reading body language. The lecture will discuss nutrition & feeding for bunnies and adult rabbits, how hay is digested and a brief introduction to gastric stasis. We will also focus on proper restraint methods for venipuncture, where and how to draw blood, how much blood you can safely draw and what tubes to use.

Speaker Information: Jessie Fix, D.V.M.
Jessie Fix graduated from Ross University in 2012. She spent her clinical year at the University of Minnesota where she had an externship with raptors, zoo medicine, and wildlife. For two years, she volunteered with the sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation department at the New England Aquarium. She has a strong interest in exotics (small mammals, reptiles, and birds). She joined Bulger in January 2016.
