The deadline for the newsletter is the 15th of the month prior to publication.
(ie. January 15th is the deadline for the February Newsletter)

Position: Surgery/Anesthesia Supervisor

The
Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center of New England (VESCONE) is looking for
a qualified individual with excellent leadership, skills, communication and mentoring capabilities
who will serve as the Head Technician in the Surgery/Anesthesia Department.
Interested candidates will provide continuous leadership for the surgery department nursing
staff and liaisons as well as aid in the organization and daily function of the surgery department.
On call rotating schedule including some weekends and holidays required.

Basic Requirements: Associate or Bachelor degree from an AVMA accredited program in
veterinary technology with current CVT status. Veterinary Technician Specialty anesthesia or
CVT eligible to sit for the VTS examination in anesthesia is required. Candidates must have at
least 3 years of experience in anesthesia and training under a board certified veterinary
anesthesiologist or board certified VTS in anesthesia.  Candidates must have experience in a
leadership position.

Looking for an experienced, full-time vet tech to complete our team.  License preferred, but not
required. Must be proficient in all technical skills, including catheter placement, monitoring
(blood pressure, pulse oximetry, blood gas measurement, blood sampling – POC tests, EKG),
patient stabilization (intubation, fluid, transfusion, and oxygen therapy), preparing and
monitoring general anesthesia, resuscitation (defibrillation, CPR) and all aspects of blood

Anesthesia Technician
We are looking for a certified veterinary technician who is people-oriented, enjoys client
education and multitasking and has an eye for details.   Previous anesthesia experience is
required.  Duties include fulfilling the anesthetic needs of different hospital departments
including dentistry, internal medicine, surgery and critical care. Maintenance of inventory,
equipment and instruments, surgical prep, anesthesia and recovery as well as an array of client
services related to the departments.   Four day work week, participation in anesthesia on call
rotation is required.
